Help Provide Input on DOE Fluid Power Research Strategy

Published On March 28, 2017 | By Katrina Schwarz | CCEFP, Headlines

The Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is in the process of forming its five year strategic plan, a plan which could provide a substantial source of funding for fluid power research. A draft of the plan is publicly available and can be found here. To help promote increased AMO support of fluid power research and development for improved efficiency in manufacturing, members of the fluid power community are encouraged to provide their input. The deadline for public comments is April 14, 2017.

All members of the fluid power community can contribute. Researchers would be best able to comment on the benefits of fluid power research that could be supported by the AMO. Industry members could comment on how their companies would benefit from more efficient fluid power technology for manufacturing. Background information and comments from the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power can be found here.

Public feedback and comments can be sent to AMO_MYPPInfo@ee.doe.gov. Questions about efforts to support fluid power research in federal funding can be directed to CCEFP Director Kim Stelson at kstelson@umn.edu.
