NFPA Members Should Review the Annual “State of the CCEFP” Address
by Eric Lanke
At the end of each year, Kim Stelson, the Director of the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power (CCEFP), gives and records a “State of the CCEFP” address describing both the latest success of the CCEFP and its plans for the future. Given the working partnership NFPA and CCEFP have, it would behoove NFPA members to find time to review the latest address here.
Kim focuses a lot of attention on the CCEFP’s work to create new government funding for fluid power-related research. Three broad categories of research funding are being pursued—fluid power efficiency in off-highway equipment, fluid power actuation in robots and other human scale applications, and improvements in the manufacture of fluid power components. We’ve written about progress being made in each of these areas here on NFPA News, but Kim provides a concise overview of progress made and places where industry partners can get directly engaged.
These activities are supported by industry partners donating money through the Pascal Society of the NFPA Education and Technology Foundation. To learn more about the Society and how to get involved, please contact me at email@example.com or 414-778-3351.
