NFPA Re-Focuses the Pascal Society on Fluid Power Education

Over the last four years, many NFPA members have made donations through this important mechanism, which has helped provide support for the fluid power research projects of the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power (CCEFP). As I’ve previously written, now with three federal programs that can provide substantial fluid power research funding to our CCEFP and other academic partners, NFPA’s attention is turning more fully toward the growth of fluid power education within undergraduate engineering and technical school programs.
To support this effort in the upcoming year, the Pascal Society will undergo several structural changes that are designed to better engage its donors with the emerging fluid power workforce created by these education programs. Our members consistently rank workforce development as the most challenging issue their companies face. Our goal with the restructured Pascal Society is to combine the financial and volunteer contributions of many individuals into one concerted effort so that we can develop the resources, tools, and people needed to tackle this difficult workforce development challenge.
In short, the changes include both lowering the requested giving amounts for our highest donation levels and a series of changes to the recognition and participation benefits that accompany each giving level to better facilitate these workforce connections.

We have already seen an increase in the number and quality of fluid power graduates from our partner universities and tech schools. Your annual support through the Pascal Society will provide us with the stability that we need to invest in and grow the programs most needed by our industry.
